A Great Incentive: Government Solar Power Initiatives

Solargain helps you get the most out of Government initiatives

As a fully-accredited solar power company, when you purchase a solar system from Solargain you’ll receive an immediate discount off the price. Most of our customers save thousands, but it does depend on where you live and what you purchase.

What you need to know

goverment-rebate-saveWe all want to get the most out of the Government’s generous incentive program and you can rest-assured that Solargain takes all the hassle out of the process. It is our mission to ensure your application is processed quickly and correctly.

How it works - The Initial Discount (STCs)

You receive a substantial upfront discount on your solar PV panels, which is already built into the price of the unit.
This is thanks to STCs (Small-Scale Technology Certificates).

A Federal Government initiative, STCs are generated by the customer when they purchase and install a solar panel system through a company like Solargain. The number of STCs you receive will depend on your location and the power-output of your system.

The Criteria for your system being eligible for STCs Include the following:

1) Your panels are installed by an accredited professional (Solargain!)
2) Your system is less than 100kW in size
3) You use panels and inverters which are Australia Clean Energy Council approved

How it works – Credit for excess electricity (Feed-in Tariffs)

Most electricity providers have net metering programs which make solar PV power even more worthwhile.

This means that when your PV system generates more solar power than you need, the excess power gets fed back into the grid and your power meter runs backward!

A State Government Initiative, Feed-in tariffs reimburse you for this surplus of power. Rather than paying their utility company per quarter, thousands of our customers enjoy a credit for the extra power their PV systems create.

Feed-in tariffs (and the way they are calculated) vary from state to state and can be different from retailer to retailer.

The below table lists STC eligibilty information as it stands today, we also recommend visiting the Government website for more information.

1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 3 x [number of eligible STCs]
1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 2 x [number of eligible STCs]
1 July 2013 onwards 1 x [number of eligible STCs] (ie no multiplier)

Thanks to the Government as well as Solargain’s exceptional buying power and competitive pricing, renewable energy is a lot less expensive than what you may think.
