See below for a guide on how to use the monitoring system's available to your Fronius SnapINverter system. Monitoring is a great way of optimising your energy usage and further capitalising on the power provided by your solar energy system. The excellent monitoring platform that Fronius provides is one of many reasons that they are one of the most popular inverter manufacturers on the market today.

Use this guide to get started!

If you have a Fronius SnapINverter, start by accessing your main screen menu.

There are four buttons along the bottom of the screen. The first one on the right hand side (A) will take you left or up. The second button (B) will take you right or down, the third (C) is your menu or escape key and the last button (D) acts as an enter button.

To check your yield, use the third button (C) to open the menu. Now use the left and right keys (A/B) to scroll through the menu options.

The menu you want to select is log which will be accompanied by an image of a book. Use the last button (D) to select this menu.

Once selected, use button (D) to select Energy Fed in (KWH/MWH).

You will then be able to select the time period in the format of today, year or total.

The two easiest indicators are the today and total functions.

The today figure refers to the amount of kilowatt hours your system has produced for the day. Since it is a daily reading, the best indication of production will be towards the end of the day, before the sun goes down. You can check this figure against the yield data provided in your Solargain Customer User Manual given to you in a black handover folder on the day of installation. If you cannot find this manual please call 1300 73 93 55 and we will arrange to send a new one to you.

The other important figure is the total.

This refers to the accumulative total of kilowatt hours produced since the system was installed.

To work out your average monthly production, simply record the difference between your total figure at the start and end of each month.

For example:

E-Total on 1st January is 1100

E-Total on 1st February is 1300

January’s Monthly Yield is therefore 200 units (1300 less 1100)

January’s Average Daily Yield is therefore 6.45kWh (200 monthly yield divided by 31 days in January)

Like the today figure, this data can also be compared to the yield estimates in your Solargain Customer User Manual.

Troubleshooting

Sometimes in the morning and late afternoon, as the inverter is turning on or shutting off, its fault light might be on. It may also make clicking noises. Both of these are normal functions. You should also note that the inverter’s sound increases as it works harder and produces more wattage. Any internal issues with the inverter will be detected by the device and will cause the fault light to be displayed permanently.

If there is ample sunlight outside and the status light is flashing orange or displaying red, then you should conduct a reset.

If, after resetting, the lights continue to flash orange or red, then there will be a fault code that appears across the bottom of the screen. Please record this error message as well as the serial number of your inverter, which can be retrieved from the side of your unit.

Then call Solargain on 1300 73 93 55 and we will happily assist you to resolve the issue.

Please note - if you have no power in your house due to a blackout, your inverter will not work until the grid has been restored.
