Is your Aero-Sharp inverter producing a Grid Volt Error?

What is a Grid Volt Error?

A Grid Volt Error in your Aero-Sharp inverter means that the AC fuse may have blown or the AC board may have failed. If the AC fuse is replaced and it immediately blows again, it means there’s a short on the AC board and your inverter will need to be replaced.

 

Aero-Sharp Solar Inverter Ground Fault

Are you having trouble with your Aero-Sharp inverter? Is it displaying a Ground Fault error message?

What is a Ground Fault?

If your Aero-Sharp solar inverter develops a Ground Fault, there may be an issue with how the unit is earthed; however, this can be repaired. If we rule out a leaking earth, the earth fault may exist internally in the inverter, which means your inverter will need to be replaced.

What is an F-00 fault?

This type of fault can indicate high grid voltage levels. We recommend you check that the main ‘solar supply’ switch in your metre box is on. If it is, we recommend you then call us for assistance.

What is a d-27 fault?

This is an electrical fusion caused by excessive voltage transients on the input or output of the inverter. It is generally caused by an extraneous event such as a lightning strike or a power surge on the grid.

Aero-Sharp Inverter Faults

The Aero-Sharp is a transformer-based inverter which was installed until 2011 and came in various sizes (1 kW, 1.5 kW, 2 kW and 3 kW). It was initially warranted for 5 years, but the latter models came with a 10-year warranty, shortly before the company went into liquidation.

Sharp Inverter Repairs and Service

The Sharp JH1600E is a 1.6kW inverter sold between 2012 and 2013 in Australia by Sharp Corporation, a Japanese company. They offer limited warranty support in Australia and contract their repairs to a company called "Inverter Service", which can be contacted by e-mail at service@inverterservice.com.au.

Solar King SLK inverter faults

Manufactured in Taiwan, Solar King inverters were installed in Australia up until 2012 and came with a 5-year warranty. The SLK is a single-tracking, plug-and-play, transformerless inverter.

If you are a Solargain customer and your inverter is still within the warranty period, you can remove it and bring it to your nearest Solargain office to have it replaced free of charge. Alternatively, you can book a health check, where we will replace the unit and conduct a service on the system (recommended annually).
